Project Description

This handmade book follows a series of text messages exchanged between two people during a flight from Chicago to London. The unfolding pages track the emotional shifts I went through over the course of the journey, reflecting the quiet turbulence of international travel.

Each message captures a shift in thought, from hesitation to doubt to some version of clarity. The pacing of the book mirrors the route and rhythm of the flight itself. Every page is a small move forward, showing how my inner dialogue changed in response to things I couldn’t fully explain or control.

Made in early 2017, this project became a way to explore how personal emotion is shaped by larger, less visible forces. It sits in the space between the individual and the global, between what I felt and what was happening around me.
